On August 3, 2019, an opening ceremony of the international stage of the "Horse marathon" competition within the framework of the 2019 International Army Games, also called "Aravt", took place at the Tavan Tolgoi training ground.

Cavalry units from four countries (Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) will take part in the competition, which will be held from 3 to 8 August 2019 on the basis of the Joint Training Center of the Armed Forces of Mongolia. Russian national team will be represented by the riflemen of the 55th separate motorized rifle mountain brigade (Republic of Tyva).

The marathon includes two stages consisting of races on different distances. The first stage will be held in a unique geographic environment near the National Park of Khustai, where Przewalski's horses live. The route of the riders lies at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level and includes 40 natural obstacles.
